It's quite common for the mucosa to appear normal during an endoscopy in patients with celiac disease, especially in cases of Marsh 3a or 3b histological changes. FWIW, I have a friend who has Crohn's Disease, and had surgery for it when he was younger, but doesn't want to take some of the prescription medications to help him deal with ongoing symptoms. I told him to look into hookworms treatment.- 2
